Tonight's
Seattle Times has an article about a new online "game" called
Fantasy Congress
WASHINGTON -- Imagine House Speaker Dennis Hastert, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Republican Sen. Sam Brownback and Democratic Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton working together toward the same harmonious end.
Sound like fantasy?
Maybe, but that fantasy soon may be realized in a new Web site game that brings the concept of fantasy sports to the political arena.
It is based on fantasy sports and you get to draft a team that consists of 12 members of Congress and 3 Senators. YOu then get to compete aginst other people in your same league. You bascially win points by having real life legislation move through the process.
The players will earn points -- and bragging rights but no prizes -- based on the lawmakers' real-life performances, and the player whose team has the most points at the end of the season will win.
So I am thinking we need to form a Daily Kos league. The game goes live after the elections but we can form teams now. I am actually an independent progressive so I might not have many people to play with as the rest of you.
It was developed by some students at Claremenot and it seems to be free to sign up. I realize I don't have 3 full orignial paragraphs for this diary but I figure you can read the article or the instructions on the web site instead.
Let the games begin.
