This is outrageous.
A barrage of mysterious emails have been sent out in the last week in bulk to nearly 100 recipients at a time attacking Sheldon Whitehouse in the most vile and tasteless manner. Recipients of this email include news outlets and community leaders throughout the state. The email sender has the name of "Noname Nolast" and the email address "againstsheldon@yahoo.com"
My blog technology administer Alex tracked down the ISP address of this mysterious emailer and guess what?
This email is coming from the United States Senate!

In case you missed this recent story, a top aide to Republican Congressman Charlie Bass recently resigned after campaigning on the Internet while on government time.
This from ABC News:
A top aide to U.S. Rep. Charles Bass resigned Tuesday after disclosures that he posed as a supporter of the Republican's opponent in blog messages intended to convince people that the race was not competitive.
Operators of two liberal blogs traced the postings to the House of Representatives' computer server. Bass' office traced the messages to his policy director, Tad Furtado, and issued a statement announcing Furtado's resignation Tuesday.
"Tad Furtado posted to political Web sites from my office without my knowledge or authorization and in violation of my office policy," Bass said. "I have referred this matter to the House Committee on Standards of Official Conduct for their review."
I have contacted the United States Senate security office (Alex Miyagi at 202-228-4446) and they have the ISP address, one of the emails in question and all of the information they need to promptly find out who is responsible for wasting taxpayer dollars through these dirty campaign tactics. They informed me that they will 'investigate the matter.'
Is this what the United States government has come to: sending anonymous campaign attacks on the taxpayer dime?
This is what I want to know.
Is this person an employee of Sen. Lincoln Chafee?
If not, is the Senate Republican leadership allowing their employees to campaign for endangered Republicans with Senate property and on Senate time?
Just who is responsible?
