Beirut, Lebanon (AHN) - Five Shiite ministers resigned in protest from Lebanon's Cabinet Saturday. The ministers were upset when talks to give the Hezbollah party more power fell through.

What is the possibility that this might bring down the Siniora govt and lead to new elections?
What is the possibility that Hezbollah will take the majority if they do?
And what would be the consequences of a Hezbollah government in Lebanon?
Is it possible that the Western Axis of Intransigency might have learned something from the debacle of its boycott of the Hama government in Palestine? Would the US now add Lebanon to its "not-talking-to" list?
One thing is clear: that a sovereign Lebanese government would have every right to import whatever weapons it pleased, from whatever source, to defend its borders. This, after all, is what the UN Resolution declares: that the Lebanese armed forces take control of all Lebanese territory. The resolution also wants to see all arms in the control of the Lebanese armed forces, not independent militias. This could all be accomplished with Hezbollah at the head of the armed forces.
The God of Unintended Consequences would find great amusement in the fact that Israel's invasion of Lebanon to destroy Hezbollah had resulted in Hezbollah's control of the country: a legitimate force with a legitimate mandate to defend it against any further aggression.
Which it could undoubtedly expect from its belligerent neighbor to the south.
