For those who might have too much time on their hands this evening.
As in Mark Halperin: "anyone who thought that the Democrats will take over the Senate has too much time on their hands."

I urge you to attend and make your objections loud and clear, though of course in a rational and respectful way.

Far from promoting this book, I am suggesting that Kossacks who feel strongly about the ABC faux docudrama on the events of 11 September in general and Mark Halperin's snarky right wing shilling on the Note and elsewhere in particular, might want to debate and discuss these issues tonight.
I myself would love to, but I have to be 100 miles away from Cambridge tonight.
Given his cluelessness about the '06 election, I can't believe he has the gall to pimp this book anout '08. At the very least he should rewrite it. His refusal to recognize the current reality is testament to the strength of cognitive dissonance.
Most recently he made a fool of himself on the Hugh Hewitt show. On 31 October 2006 Glenn Greenwald posted an insightful discussion of that along with several links that critique the book Halperin is currently hawking:

Anoyone interested in challenging Halperin in Harvard Square would profit from reading that entire column and its related and linked discussions.
For some discussion of his prior efforts at something resembling balance see Joshua Micah Marshall's column from 2004:

What seems to be consistent about Halperin is a presentist inability to see beyond the immediate moment as well as an instinct for sycophancy. Back in 2004 at a time he thought Kerry was going to take the presidency, he called for fairer treatment of his remarks. Two years later when he thought the Bushites were going to hang on, he went the opposite direction.
