While it is very sad that Ned Lamont lost to Joementia and we are all deeply disappointed at it, when people have personal issues please start your own threads on them. I too, like many others contributed to Ned's campaign online.
Yesterday, Senator Edwards dropped by and the entire top of the thread is hijacked by Tim, Aldon and Matt bickering. Thankfully, this was long after Edwards left.
When politicians come by Kos and ask for questions or areas of interest please take the personal stuff outside.
I promise when Hillary comes by not to ask why neither her nor her husband could travel 18 miles to campaign for Ned in Connecticut. I promise not to ask Barack Obama why he was campaigning in Massachusetts for a governor with a 30 point lead instead of in connecticut. etc....
We all know candidates come here for great exposure. We all know the 08 presidential candidates campaigned around the country to help themselves as well as those they were campaigning for. If someone thinks a candidate could have done more for someone else they are probably right.
Update: There seems to be some confusion as to some of the points of this diary.
From the comments:
"As far as Hillary, why should we let her off the hook? Same with Obama? It's people like you these politicians count on to "get over it" where they can get away with sabotaging their own party and not faace the consequences. Hillary did a photoop -that was pretty much it. 5 grand is chump change. It's the equivalent of one of us handing a homeless man a dollar if he keeps pestering us and we do not want to look heartless in front of our friends. When Bill Clinton goes to cmapaign for Lieberman on Hillary's urging, but then goes on Larry King and says he is fine with either person winning despite Liebernman no longer running as a democrat, you think Hillary disagreed?"
I am not saying we should not ask the tough questions of candidates or hold them responsible for their actions.
However, the questions need to be asked of the candidate not one poster after another replying to commenters to such an extent that you can't even find the candidates responses.
I believe Elizabeth Edwards did answer the Lamont question - but it would be hard to find her answer in the goop in the beginning of the thread. For any of you who have not tried to read the Edwards post try to find questions directed to the candidate and his/her answers.. it is very painful due to all the sniping...
