Spkr Nancy Pelosi hasn't taken oath yet, but running her down is in full swing already from Fox, rightwing talk shows and repubs.
Digby and others wrote about this.
Digby's take
Ms Pelosi has gotten better with her media appearances recently,
but she is not punchy enough. I want to make a list of
some zingers she can use in her speeches at media events, press conferences and floor speeches.
Details on the jump page.
I am pretty sure Ms Pelosi's media staff monitor this site and
hopefully, they will pick up some of these zingers and put them
in her speeches.
I will start with a few and invite kossacks to contribute some.
Let us make at least a 100 of some quotable lines, sound bites and zingers.
"I am a grandmother. Do you think I will entrust my grandkids' future - and America's kids' future - with Republicans and president Bush?"
"Oh those house republicans leaders! Did you know they met only 2 days a week all of last year and spent the rest of the time raising campaign cash and doing the campaigns. What good has it done to them, huh?"
"Et tu Maureen Dowd? When our young people - they are younger than my kids -
are dying and getting maimed in Iraq, you want to talk about me and my looks? Well, I am a grandmother.
If you want to see the ugliness of war on the prettiest of
faces, go and visit those wounded soldiers at Walter Reed and then tell us if life is fair or if this administration has been fair?"
"I hear all that criticism and ridicule from Republicans about me and my fellow Democrats in the house. But we can take it. But how do we tell that three-year-old girl in (insert town, state) why her father wasn't there for her birthday and will not be there for any of her future birthdays?"
"Did you hear about the repub congressman who robo-called his mother-in-law, tying up her phone, when she was expecting a call from her doctor?
If you have to robo-call your mother-in-law, what kind of constituency do you have? No mother-in-law jokes please, because I am one."
Alright gang, take it away.
