Yup, it is a wonderful life here in the LuLu household. So much to be thankful for, so much that makes me know LIFE IS GOOD.
I have two great young-adult kids. My oldest, a son, landed a great job his chosen field within months of graduating from college last May. My daughter is in her second year of college and having a great time and learning stuff, as well.
I am thankful that I had the strength to keep it together and raise them by myself the last 15 years after a very nasty divorce. I am thankful I didn’t totally screw them up.
My sharp-as-a-tack mother is 86 and a source of unending love, support and humor.
I have brothers who, while they live far away, can be counted on the drop everything and help out when needed.
There is a big extended family that spreads across this country, a few great friend and a job that pays well enough to keep me and my family in a modest, but comfortable lifestyle. I have been able to take a few memorable trips that remind me we are more alike than different in this big world.
I am thankful for Kirsten Gillibrand, NY 20, whose campaign got my political juices flowing, and her great come-from-behind win that stunned and thrilled me.
I am thankful that I am in a position to help others and give my time, talents and a little bit of money to help ease suffering, fight injustice and make this world a better place.
How about you? What are you thankful for?
