Hi, there. Don't know if you guys will find this interesting--or just another story of someone working in a campaign office.
I live in Joe Sestak's district outside Philadelphia but I met Eric Massa over a year ago while I was stalking Wes Clark. I've been super-involved in Eric's campaign ever since. This is about my 6th trip up to the district. (Incidentally, Joe was disappointed that I was leaving PA-07 to work up here, but he understood.)
(The stalking Wes Clark thing is a running joke; every time he sees me now, he tells the whole crowd around him that I'm stalking him, but... I digress... it should be noted, however, that I was scheduled to be in NY 29 for the home stretch LONG before Wes said he was coming up here... I think he's stalking ME now.)
Anyway, it's about a 5 hour drive from PA-07 to NY-29, on average, that is. This is a huge district geography-wise. I left at 5:30am. I hit Syracuse and this white shit started coming out of the sky. We have white shit in Philadelphia, but it doesn't fall in November. It was 70 degrees back home 2 days ago!
Anyway, by the time I got to Pittsford, I had about 30 messages in my inbox from Eric's website. Eric was on Air America this morning. Wow! Air America is a great thing. Eric's giving everyone all over the country hope. And that wouldn't be happening without Air America. We really are having a revolution, aren't we?
I was about halfway through the emails when my PC crashed. Oops... Life in 2006...
In the background, there are volunteers contacting volunteers about GOTV tomorrow. There are several bigger-than-life-size hand-drawn pictures of Eric staring at me. That's kind of comforting, but there's also slightly-smaller-than-life-size photo of Randy Kuhl looking at me too.
Meanwhile, I just entered the On The Road schedule for tomorrow on Eric's website: http://www.massaforcongress.com/.... The best part about this is that at 8:30 tomorrow morning, there's a MCDC GOTV Rally. I asked for an English translation of that. Of course, we all know what GOTV means now, but many people still don't. And, being an outsider, I had no idea that MCDC stood for Monroe County Democratic Committee. I thought it was a misspelling of a 70's rock group.
The campaign manager walked in a few minutes ago. Poor man. He was swarmed with questions.
Anyway, I'm mostly caught up with my web-specific work adn answering emails. Perhaps I'll get a chance to do something that actually requires my being here. If you guys find this interesting, I'll keep you up-to-date.
