So many Bush-Cheney partisans are breaking away before the election - neocons, military groups, media types - that I take it to mean, at least, that most of the formerly-for-Bush-Cheney supporters think that the Republicans are going to lose control of at least one house of Congress, and by dramatic enough numbers that it means a clear repudiation of the Iraq invasion. That's good news.
But, going further, I am trying to figure out what the neo-cons, in particular, are trying to achieve by allowing such a public about-face as the one in Vanity Fair to appear on the eve of the election. What's in it for them?
