The Republican NRCC's abusive use of negative Robocalls
may trigger a backlash which hurts NRCC more than it helps it.
To function, the NRCC has to communicate.
I am in Pennsylvania's 6th District -- where Democrat Lois Murphy is running against Jim Gerlach-- and I have received
many NRCC Robocalls with negative claims against Lois Murphy. Calls which I saved in my telephone voicemail.
Something I did on my own today was call various people at the NRCC and play their Robocalls back to them so that they could appreciate their own rhetoric. Several times.
As NRCC Deputy Director of Communications Ed Patru has explained, a voter can't be "overinformed".
So I assumed Robocalling the Robocaller would be fine. The NRCC is real nice about listing the phone numbers one can call under their Staff Directory at http://web.campaignsolutions.com/....
Plus one can reach their Campaign Assistance Group
--Jonathan Poe, Mike McElwain, Larry Telford etc -- at (202) 479-7050.
Larry Telford, NRCC's "Director of Incumbent Retention" was even more helpful He left his personal cell phone number on his office voicemail and left his direct office number
on the voice mail for his cell phone. So anyone can reach Larry directly --without going through the NRCC switchboard -- at the following numbers:
cell: 202-236-9417
office: 202-646-6424
If the NRCC persists in these calls , they may trigger a storm of protest from various individuals. A storm which could, inadvertently and unfortunately, cause a "denial of service" condition for NRCC's own public
communications.
