I don't know who all is up this late, but since I am, I'll post it: Wisconsin's Dems have taken control of the State Senate! With Governor Doyle staying in place, that gives
us control of the agenda, finally.
Details below the fold!
Update! We definitely did it! We won four seats, giving us a comfortable 18-15 majority!
With the Senate going in at 19R-14D, we needed three seats to win control. I think we've got four, as I write this.
SD-05: Jim Sullivan has handily defeated incumbent loon Tom Reynolds. With 99% reporting, Sullivan has 35,768 votes (52%) to Reynolds's 33,351 (48%). There's no checkmark yet, but I can't imagine this won't get called for Jim.
SD-21: John Lehman spanked Bill McReynolds in a race for an open seat. With 100% in, it's Lehman 31,736 (53%) and McReynolds 28,069 (47%)
SD-23: This is the one I don't know yet. Pat Kreitlow is trying to unseat another incumbent loon, Dave Zien. With 79% Kreitlow's at 29,455 (51%) and Zien has just 28,441 (49%). UPDATE: rhubarb notes below in the comments that with 100% in, Kreitlow wins by 100 votes! We did it!
SD-31: Farmer Kathleen Vinehout is also out to beat an incumbent Republican, Ron Brown. WisPolitics.com has called this race, but other outlets haven't. I trust that the result will hold, though. With 83% reporting, Vinehout has 25,432 (51%) and Brown has 24,217 (49%).
UPDATE: Brown has conceded, according to WisPolitics. Call it!
If Kreitlow holds on, we'll we do have an 18-15 advantage!

Go Dems! It's been a great wave!
