here's what i want:
1. a round of applause of angie paccione.
2. a conversation about how we are NOT going to be the bi-partisan dishrag bush hopes for. what we want, in fact, is answers to our questions.
let's frame it this way:
we want answers.
the american people want answers.
the new democratic congress does not want obstruction, and we do not want radical investigations. we don't want a new inquisition. and in fact we don't want a bipartisan do-nothing congress. what we want is clear: we want answers.
the american people want answers.
why did we go to war? and how are we going to end it?
why did we allow corporations to craft a secret energy policy, which has influenced our elections?
why have we not secured our elections?
why have we not yet decided that science trumps science fiction?
why have we allowed ourselves to strip the constitution of basic essential guarantees that it was intended to uphold?
why are so many senators and congresspeople incapable of doing anything about the lack of health insurance for 47 million americans?
we do not want investigations, per se. what we want are answers.
what are the answers to the problems facing this country?
dear speaker pelosi, please, we do not want a fight per se. what we want are answers to the questions that have remained unanswered for the last six years.
the question is: what has happened to our country? dear congress, please answer.
