What made America the greatest country on earth? Was it the American Dream? Was it our unique compromise between socialism and capitalism? Was it freedom? Or was it part of an elaborate plan orchestrated to create the next engine of global war? If you think it was just our innovation and our hard work that made us what we are then you're not going to like what I have to say...
I think it was our position as the world's #1 oil producer that powered our success. Ever since we peaked in 1970 it has all been downhill. Growth in the '80s was created by a ponzi scheme that has left us beyond bankrupt. Cleverly disguised and marketed imperialist endeavors and worldwide corporate thuggery have helped us maintain our position.
But it obviously can't go on unless the people make a conscious choice to support an agenda of global domination. To throw down the gauntlet, so to speak. To take off the mask and become the evil empire some in this country have wished us to be. To quit beating around the Bush and call it what it is. Global Fascism. The 4th Reich.
I was certain the good people in America would not allow this to happen, but alas I underestimated the power of terrorism. (And Fox News!) As many of us have. Some guy in a cave wanting to kill us... now I can accept that kind of threat. I think we can still get by even with people like that in the world. But when our own government uses terrorism to scare the population into submission... few of us are prepared to deal with how real a threat that is.
Sooner or later someone is going to have to pull the plug on the US economy. No one wants to admit this so no one can do anything about it. Honestly I think our only hope lies in the discovery of a new energy resource. And at this point I think this new energy source is more likely to come from Roswell than from hydrogen or ethanol. (If ya catch me drift.) If it does not happen then we will descend into tyranny. We will lose our freedoms we worked so hard for, and WWII will look like a field day in comparison to what awaits us.
Just remember that when it happens, you will know there were many who saw it coming. But there were many more who just didn't care to hear what they had to say. I never want to hear anyone say we didn't know.
