The Associated Press reports:
A professed vegan has filed a proposed class-action lawsuit claiming McDonald's Corp. misled consumers into thinking its french fries are free of dairy and wheat products. Nadia Sugich of Los Angeles said in the filing that she "would have never purchased or consumed the french fries if she had known they contain dairy and were not vegan."
McDonald's Corporation may well be a bunch of dairy-suppressing liars. My question is, what kind of vegan eats at McDonald's?
Sugich sued on behalf of California consumers who avoid dairy or wheat products because of moral, philosophical or health concerns.
If you're concerned about maintaining your health and standing firmly on moral grounds, you probably shouldn't be eating at McDonald's in the first place. [Now, in the name of full disclosure, I must admit to eating at the Golden Arches on occasion, but I have a perfectly good excuse -- I'm not concerned about my health and I'm have no moral consistency. Then again, I'm not suing McDonald's either.]
She is asking for the customers to be reimbursed for their french fry purchases in the filing, among other requests.
That's a good idea. Of course, there ain't a whole lot to get with 99 cent refund. Except maybe some french fries.
