The Militant Right's most faithful servants continue to peddle the debunked claims that led us into a war that has now taken the lives of 2,279 Americans. This week,
Senator Orrin Hatch stated that Saddam Hussein worked with the terrorist group behind the attacks of September 11th, 2001. Speaking to both business and political leaders at a private luncheon, Senator Hatch claimed:
...we've stopped a mass murderer in Saddam Hussein. Nobody denies that he was supporting al Qaida. Well, I shouldn't say nobody. Nobody with brains.
Yet, nearly two years ago, the bi-partisan
9/11 Commission reported that it found "no collaborative relationship" between Iraq and al Qaeda. The Commission included two Governors, two U.S. Representatives, two U.S. Senators, a Secretary of the Navy, a White House Council, a Chief of the Watergate Task Force and a Deputy Attorney General. Yet, according to Senator Orrin Hatch of Utah, these public servants are a bunch of idiots!!!
As a representative of the American people, Orrin Hatch deserves to get your reaction to this contemptible insult. Please take a moment to let his office know that these ten American patriots deserve more than a deplorable smear.
