Al Lewis, who once ran against George Pataki for governor of New York, and best known for playing Grandpa Munster, has died at the age of 95. Lewis had been in poor health for some years now, died peacefully in his sleep, surrounded by family members.
Lewis, played Grandpa on the shortlived 60's comedy "the Munsters". The show ran from 1964-66, and was cancelled after the third season because of internal problems.
Lewis tried his hand at politics, and ran against Pataki. He received about 52,000 votes.
