I am a long-standing member of the Dkos community, and recently, with the new comments features added, I have been iced out of being able to view and read diaries. I am looking to see if anyone can advise me what to do, who to contact or generally where my problems might lie.
I'd like to participate in this community (read my previous diaries) but right now am unable to. Please send me an email at pfhenry1960@hotmail.com, as I am currently unable to stay on a diary long enough to scroll down and get to make or read comments.
Better description of the problem on the flip.
I have a DSL connection in a rural area in Wisconsin. What happens when I click on a diary is that the diary comes up for about 15 to 30 seconds, and then I hear a click sound and get this message:
Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site ___ (the Dkos address). Operation aborted.
At first I thought that maybe this was just my own problem. I have a relatively old Dell laptop and since I got my DSL connection in January I have not been able to open any PDF files, so I was thinking perhaps between my new connection and my old computer, things just were not working. But, when I went to Minneapolis recently and also tried to read diaries on Dkos, the same message popped up there. That computer has a dial-up connection. So, I am thinking that something is indeed wrong with the new comments/diary set-up. And, in addition, I did see (briefly) a diary the other day that suggested another user was having the same problem.
Is this a real problem? Is someone working on it? Is there anything I can do about it?
I would greatly appreciate any help/answers from the more technically savvy users out there. I myself am a former Luddite, now just woefully uninformed pretender in the blogging business. But, as a member who has been invited to YearlyKos on the education topic, I am trying to hang in there and help create positive change with like-minded souls.
Anybody got a suggestion? Again, email me, as I literally have no other access to read or discuss on diaries...
Peace to you out there...
