The American Prospect Online ("TAPPED") has at long last issued its first clarification of
Dems Don't Know Jack, a hugely popular 2006-01-27 analysis of campaign contributions by Abramoff's tribal clients.
"DDNJ" provided National Review pundidiot Don Luskin a rare clean shot at Paul Krugman, who had uncritically swallowed DDNJ's major claim -- that donations to Dem's declined when tribes hired Abramoff.
An artfully worded statement by contract researcher Dwight Morris disclaims and disowns the article's headline as well as the vaunted 9% decline. In an even more artfully spun intro, The Editors strive to salvage "even stronger proof" of DDNJ's major thrust.
Thirst for absolute absolution drove Dem's to imbibe an adulterated solution ... and even Brad DeLong's Stupidest Man Alive can be right twice a year.
My advice to Dem's?
- Don't hitch your wagons to DDNJ's conclusions. This editorial note barely scratches the surface of DDNJ's comedy of errors, but even that's enough to cut gullible readers to the quick.
- There's more to this. Stay tuned.
