In September of last year, I was the first Congressional candidate in the nation to hit the airwaves, because Jim Sensenbrenner disgraced everyone in our district when he voted against giving aid to Hurricane Katrina victims. Apparently he didn't learn his lesson. Last week he voted against another aid package for our fellow Americans who are still displaced by one of our greatest natural disasters. I don't care what party you're from, I know that Republicans, Democrats, Greens and Independents all believe that there is a time when we have a responsibility to help our own people, and Jim Sensenbrenner has failed to do his job.
My questions for Congressman Sensenbrenner now are quite serious, and I hope you will join me in holding him accountable. Sensenbrenner voted in favor of the Medicare prescription sham that will pour billions of dollars into the pharmaceutical companies' coffers at taxpayer expense, but he voted against sending aid to Katrina Victims. How does he justify that? Perhaps it is because he owns stock in the very drug companies who benefited from the deal. Or maybe it was the fact that those drug companies' PACs pour money into his campaign fund. Either way, Jim Sensenbrenner is part of the culture of corruption in Washington, and he needs to be held accountable.
Please join me as I gear up in my campaign to oust Jim Sensenbrenner for Congress. Let's take back OUR Congress in 2006.
