Should I get a Democracy Bond or just stop funding the party?
I've been giving $100 a month to the DNC since before the last Presidential election. I should have gotten one of those Democracy bonds they're giving out to regular contributors, but I've been doing it since before they got the idea. I've given thousands of dollars to the Democrats on a regular basis, but I can't even buy enough influence to make the Democrats true to their own ideals.
I'm really pissed that so many of the DLC professional politicians, the losers who have run the party into the ground with their so called "strategies," pressured Paul Hackett out of the Senate race in Ohio, without letting primary voters decide who they wanted to run in the general election. These people are just like Republicans, they don't really trust the people to run the government.
I wrote to the DNC via their website, explaining how I felt about the situation and demanding an answer. I'm sure a lot of people have complained about it, so they wouldn't give me an individual answer, but I haven't seen any collective answer either, either in the shape of a form e-mail or in the shape of a webpage explaining things. Please let me know in a comment if I'm missing anything.
So what should I do? Should I tell these people I have better ways to waste my money? Giving it to the Red Cross, UNICEF or Oxfam might at least give me a tax break that I don't get from giving to the Democratic Party. It would probably do the world more good, too, at least until the Democrats finally take a stand on principle about something, maybe standing up for the US Constitution, if that's not too much to ask of people who took oaths to defend and protect that Constitution. Well, the Republicans, even Alberto Gonzales, took such oaths, too, but if I can't expect more from the Democrats than the Republicans why should I give money to the Democrats? If I gave it to the Republicans I would at least buy some influence for my money. Heck, maybe I could even start a company and steal some money from the government for giving a few grand to the GOP. </snark>
OK, I'm just about boiling over here. Let me ask people here what they think I should do.
