Osama did one job on U.S. soil five years ago, but
the fear created by that event has been doing a
job on the average U.S. citizen everyday since.
How much collective energy has been wastefully
spent on irrational fear? The people keep falling
for the ruse. The government is still trying to
declare everyday an emergency.
Do the math. The odds of a terrorist killing a
citizen in the U.S. are lower than just about any
other cause of death, natural or otherwise.
Whether a fire, a car accident, cancer, old age,
emphysema, or obesity.
Here's the top ten from 2002: (below the fold)
Heart Disease: 696,947
Cancer: 557,271
Stroke: 162,672
Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 124,816
Accidents (unintentional injuries): 106,742
Diabetes: 73,249
Influenza/Pneumonia: 65,681
Alzheimer's disease: 58,866
Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome, and nephrosis: 40,974
Septicemia: 33,865
Go figure. 300,000,000 (est. U.S. pop) / 2,752
(9-11 death toll) * 5 (years) = 545,058 to 1 odds
of dying by terrorism on U.S. soil since 9-11.
You name it. Suicide, homicide, and HIV are way
ahead of death by terrorist attack.
BOO! The U.S. government has been responsible for
killing as many as 100,000 human beings fighting
THE WAR ON TERRORISM in the last 5 years. A very
miniscule proportion of those people were actually
bonafide terrorists. The only way for the people
of the U.S. to truly prevail over THE WAR ON
TERRORISM is to stop falling for the
organizational fear tactics of Al Queda, the U.S.
government, and the sensationalist media.
Don't be afraid. Don't vote for fearmongers.
Don't focus on fear. Al Queda keeps winning
through fear. That's why they're called
terrorists.
This government has nefariously usurped the
citizens personal freedom and vacuumed the
people's treasury because of irrational fears.
This goverment has proven it will keep taking as
much control as it can get.
The Congress gives more power to the Pentagon and
the Intelligence agencies, because they are
allegedely protecting the citizens with a trillion
dollar super high tech war machine against the
boxcutter wielding terrorist who may be hiding in
the closet with the boogeyman. Who's winning?
How much safer is the country?
War presidents get re-elected because people are
afraid. War is great for news ratings. Fear sells,
better than sex. The media loves to peddle scary
stories. The rich and powerful war-profiteers know
how to capitalize on people's fear. It's page one
of their playbook. And Al Queda simply thrives on
irrational fear.
Phony-cowboy Bush and his greedy-sidekick Cheney,
blindly followed by a wanna-be-macho Congress,
turned what should have been strictly a military
campaign against Al Queda into a full blast war
against a dictator who had nothing to do with the
9-11 attack. They used a magic smokescreen called
THE WAR ON TERRORISM. It turns out that the sky
was not falling after all. This pre-emptive war
was ultimately given the go ahead because the
electorate was whipped into a frenzy by it's own
government and media's organizational fear
tactics. It has resulted in a giant waste of lives
and resources, has further exascerbated cultural
tensions, and has stirred up even more bloodlust
worldwide. It has produced more vengeance seeking
suicide bombers, more fear and hatred, and more
power for the terrorists.
Don't even mention the Geneva Convention. THE WAR
ON TERRORISM has nothing to do with that
international treaty. And now, even the U.S.
Constitution is getting in the way of THE WAR ON
TERRORISM.
Here's some more equations:
War on terrorism = More terrorists
War on terrorism = Less Freedom
Terror-go-round. Ad infinitum.
The U.S. has become a victim of mass insanity.
There's a solution. Don't be afraid of terrorists.
The odds are way on your side. If you have to be
afraid of something, be realistic. Pick one of the
true top ten American Killers like Septicemia or
Nephritis.
