Oh my gosh, only my third real diary here and I think this one is pretty exciting.
I have some friends who are lucky enough to be attending the "Women say no to war" event in D.C. They have Cindy Sheehan there, bruised but doing well, and they have all the Iraqis women who have flown there to tell the truth about what is happening in Iraq.
So my friends are live blogging the event at the Democracy Cell Project.
Right now they've posted some pictures and comments, but they trusted me to post this information here with you and ask you to give the Iraqis women your support by visiting the DCP for these live updates.
Also, after this big gathering, the women will be talking to people across America. I am not sure where the events are, but the best way we can support this effort is with a donation to help pay for their expenses AND then to bring our friends, family, and neighbors to hear them speak.
So, please enjoy my diary here and the live comments at the Democracy Cell Project.
Update: According to Karen at the event, Cindy was very bruised from her latest arrest--infact more bruised than the last time when the DC police arrested her unlawfully!
This time, Cindy spent 21 hours in a disgusting NYC jail and the charges were only "blocking a door." Though there were only four people involved, they hadn't planned to protest and get arrested. They were indeed grabbed and arrested for the terrible crime of blocking a door!
Imagine that!
Can you say, "Here we go again!"
More erosions of our freedom of speech!
