Again Bush hits a record low on job performance. The ratings seem high but I guess the Post/ABC Poll has been more favorable to him than others.
From the Post:
The survey found that 38 percent of the public approve of the job Bush is doing, down three percentage points in the past month and his worst showing in Post-ABC polling since he became president. Sixty percent disapprove of his performance.
More on the flip
Worse news for Repubs. The democrats led on all seven topic areas for which party do you trust. Best for the dems Health care (+32%), Prescription benefits for elderly (+28%), corruption in DC (+25%), Midrange - immigration (+12), Iraq (+7), economy (+6), low for dems - terrorism (+1%). There does not seem to be a strong suit for the Repubs.
Other weak news for the repubs - 55 percent plan to vote for the Democratic candidate in their House district, whereas only 40 percent support the Republican candidate. That is the largest share of the electorate favoring Democrats in Post-ABC polls since the mid-1980s.
Lastly, Bush's strong disagree are up to 47%. Clinton's peaked at 33% in Post-ABC polls.
