I am listening to Jim Bohanmon, a conservative who hosts an AM radio talk show, and some self-described evangelical (
Joel Rosenberg, "a senior advisor to several U.S. and Israeli leaders, including Steve Forbes, Rush Limbaugh, former Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Natan Sharansky, and former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu") is the guest, explaining why Bush has to take out Iran right now!
According to this guy, "Iran's president is a fundamentalist who believes that the 12th Imam is coming in the next two or three years and it's his duty to start the final conflagration."
Man, one day listening to Wisconsin Public Radio and another war is imminent! (ok, it was imminent yesterday, but I forgot.) I knew they are pushing this Iran war thing but this is really something.
"The case for going to war in Iraq and Afghanistan
pales compared to the case for going to war with Iran," says the guest. And of course Bohannon is ready to rip the head off of anyone who thinks differently.
The Double Doomsday Scenario is now set:
In this corner, a fundamentalist nut with a messianic vision, who believes the "End Times" is coming (you know he really does), has a pocket full o' nukes (who says they don't plan ahead?) and two "wars" under his belt.
And in this corner, according to Mr. Rosenberg, a fundamentalist nut who believes the 12th Imam is coming and
he must nuke Israel at his earliest convenience (even if it is ten years away.)
[And in this corner, Israel.]
Ok, the TRIPLE Doomsday Scenario. (And don't forget this one. Or this one.)
Now I see. I kept thinking, who is going to buy this stuff AGAIN? But THAT's the argument that will win over the same mob who bought the whole Iraq thing. Will the coverage be any better this time?
I think there should be emergency legislation passed that any nuclear bombs dropped must be ridden, Slim Pickens-style, by the fool who gives the order to release them.
In fact, any bombs of any type. Period.
I'm digging a hole tomorrow after work.
