I'm taking David Finkle off "The List" of corporate media winged-monkeys. It's complicated, but the two comments I've linked below make a good case for him. He's compromised, but not a collaborator.
Writing with a condescending tone is the price Finkle has to pay to write for a disreputable rag, such as Washington Post. He has to frame his content to fit within the anti-human, pro-corporate slant of that rag. His piece was a bit like a Trojan Horse. It got Maryscott O'Conner and Rude Pundit onto the front page of Washington Post. That was a triumph.
I'm looking forward to the day that people like Maryscott O'Conner can editorialize on salary for a widely read publication. Our people should not have to be snuck in through the back door. Washington Post was not afraid to hire Ben Domenech, but they hold Maryscott at arms-length, as if she were a rattlesnake.
