about what we're up against here in North Carolina, I had the chance this morning to review the John Locke Foundation 2005 IRS filing, two pages of which are shown below. For all you out-of-staters,
JLF is a right-wing think tank filled with free-market pundits in training. They talk a mean game about the Joys of Capitalism, but the truth is, they're nothing but a Puppetshow, funded by a multi-millionaire wacko named Art Pope, a retail magnate who makes the boys at Wal-mart look like employers-of-the year.
Income from seminars and luncheons - $56,760
Income from the Puppetmaster - $1,696,142
All other contributions - $199,999
Which means the Puppetmaster personally contributes around 90% of the money to fund this right wing crusade.
Check out the list of contributors to JLF below. RJR is in there, but the big bucks come from one of the Puppetmaster's personal charities. And then there's a bank: BB&T. I know banks in general suck when it comes to all things political, but a bank that funds the Puppetshow is stepping way over the line. If any of Kossacks are banking with BB&T, now would be a very good time to write to them and let you know how much you appreciate them spending $30,000 of the profits they make on their hard-working customers to support the Puppetmaster. You can
use this form to let them know you're closing your account.
