Tony Snow, current Fox New anchor, has accepted the new position of White House press secretary.
WASHINGTON, April 26 (Xinhua) -- U.S. President George W. Bush named the Fox News anchor Tony Snow as the new White House press secretary, as part of an ongoing shakeup of his administration amid sagging public approval ratings for his job performance.

There are a number of ways to look at this new press secretary, the most obvious being a "DUUuuuhHH" when a Fox News anchor takes over at the White House. I mean, aren't all Fox News pundits already spokespeople for the White House? I guess getting the official title would still be nice.
But that's not the angle I want to take here, here I just want to share a quick anecdote about Mr. Snow's...market acumen.
The incident in question took place during a late October 2005 airing of Real Time w/Bill Maher. Here's the "
new rules" from that episode.
The topic in question at the time had to do with the oil industry's obscene profits. At the time, ExxonMobile had just announced a then-record profit for the quater of nearly $10,000,000,000 (that's about $110,000,000/day). In a stirring defense for these ridiculous profits, Mr. Snow brought up Microsoft, and their massive profits. BTW, and for the record, Microsoft recently had a record quarter as well, pulling in $3,460,000,000 more than it put out over 90 days.
Now, the point I'm going for here is that Snow's only metaphorical argument for defending the obscene profits in the oil industry, was to use the obscene profits made BY A CONVICTED MONOPOLIST.
So, to recap...it you can monopolize a market that a society needs to function...you can make shitloads of money. And it doesn't matter about no law or nothing, as long as the ruling party is on your side, the sky is the limit.
Anyway, I have wanted to rant about this particular instance of idiocy for a few months now. Maher, and everyone else on the panel that day missed the complete b.s. that was spewing from Snow's mouth. Media Matters, as per, has a few more.
And finally, I'm quite sure that Mr. Snow, over the next few months, will fill all our ears with as much pure and uncontaminated bullshit as he can spew out. It will once again be incumbent for the masses to cry out, "Bullshit!" when we hear it, and do what we can to set the record straight.
Take a few moments to catch your breath. The time to start yelling again will come soon enough.
