Hi guys,
Some of the most knowledgeable music folks I know post here at the Kos, so I'm asking for some musical recommendations for a presentation I have to create. The deal on the flip. Take a moment away from politics and help a brother out.
I have to create a PowerPoint presentation for an audience of board members, corporate sponsors, administrators, parents, and staff members for my school (I teach "troubled youth"). The visuals will be all pics of kids and staff members, and will last maybe 10-15 minutes max. The kids will eventually see it, but the presentation has to be primarily slanted towards an adult, somewhat staid audience.
So. What music should I use behind the pics? I've come up with some ideas of my own, but I'll hold off on what I've thought of in favor of letting your ideas flow. I'm open to anything, except I'm leaning towards relatively unobtrusive background music without a strong focus on vocals. The kids would go straight for 50 Cent or E40, but I can't go that direction without causing some woman in polyester pants to faint.
Come on, music fans, whaddya think would work? I need some help here. Jazz? Space music? Air pudding (i.e. Windham Hill product)? Acoustic strumming? Something else entirely?
Disclaimer: I'm going straight to bed after posting this -- another 15-hour workday beckons in less than 6 hours, so sleep is required. But, I will be able to check this diary again during the early afternoon tomorrow and respond to your suggestions and general snarkery :-)
Thanks in advance.
