Today's Friday - and you know what that means! Okay, you don't, I've never made a diary like this before. Well, I'll tell you. Get excited.
Every Friday I'll find, explore and write about a crazy website. Sometimes it'll be about a whacky politician, sometimes about a crazy cause, all the time exposing a real threat to society by some nut or otherwise misguided soul. Today's nutty website?
The Gay Cure Website! And with statements like:
There is much testimonial data written by people with prior same-sex attraction (SSA) symptoms that tells about their family constellations and attributes their SSA to those factors. While the causal theme they offer is usually a familial one, people with SSA also link their symptoms to influences such as their own faulty perceptions and behaviors, and sexual abuse by peers, siblings, or others. Some have even gone on record to say that they had always sensed something missing or "void" inside themselves, for a variety of reasons, when they were children.
It was hard not to choose
this crazy website, the Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays. With lots of hilarious quotes and misguided attempts at "curing" people who are perfectly fine, how could I not choose them? Initially, I tossed the website aside as just another fringe group. However, I came across posts referencing the fabulous work these guys do all over the internet.
Moving on. I always find it curious that all these anti-gay websites aren't concerned about lesbians. Just look at this blatant homophobic attack:
Men struggling with same sex attraction need good male mentors
Nothing in it about women struggling with "SSA" needing strong female mentors...
Apparently, men suffering from SSA (ROFL) need all the help they can get. Those women are let off easy. I wonder what percentage of these "male mentors" end up becoming male lovers... to their pupils? Getting it on must relieve those years of built-up tension quickly and a student/mentor relationship is soooo hot.
Interested in becoming a male mentor? Well, first you need to be a closeted gay man. Sorry all you straight guys! Then you need to follow these basic rules:
Evidence of sound gender security includes the lack of defensiveness or the need to prove anything to anyone, and active participation in his masculine roles, e.g. father, husband, provider, ecclesiastical leader, male friendships, and male-typical activities. In addition, a male with good gender identification relate respectfully and well to women.
Women need not apply because there's nothing wrong with being a lesbian. That's hot.
As a bonus, this website found the root cause of homosexuality:
A good mentor must be physically affectionate. Many people believe that being physically affectionate with men who struggle with SSA will exacerbate their symptoms. Nothing could be further from the truth. Men who struggle with SSA are afraid of male affection. It is precisely this fear that makes male affection so intensely sexually interesting.
Feeling gay lately? Just go give the nearest (closeted) guy a big hug! That'll straighten you right up.
Some key features of the website:
Make sure to check out health insurance companies
Ex-Gay Bashing, whatever that means - and read the
Ex-Gay Declaration of Independence, you know... for Ex-Gayia. I think it's somewhere in Eastern Europe.
Next, see if
change is possible and read some
wonderful testimonials.
Sadly, troubled gay youth actually go to these websites looking for help. Instead, they get lies that sound good.
