So i'm looking at the diary lists. I see several "how to talk about this whole Bush leaking Plame" diary things. Here's the right one:
It's not the legality, it's the morality!
The Republicans always want to talk about "moral values". Let's talk about "moral values".
I don't even have to read those other diaries. "Let's not talk about how George W. Bush, Commander in Chief, leader of our nation 'in a time of war' [but not really] has endangered national security, threatened the lives of our agents, and disrupted our ability to collect accurate information about the outside world... because he might be immune to prosecution. Instead, let's talk about him lying about it." That's what they say. Not in those words, of course. But that's the message.
The lie is a side note, really. If he did it and then said "Yeah, I fucked that bitch and I fucked her hard!" would we be going around saying "Well... let's find some tangent of this to attack him on because we can't put him in jail for fucking Plame..."
Well, we probably would. Because we suck. And are stupid.
Look, George W. Bush has harmed--deadly-serious harmed--our nation; likely in order to pursue his own personal vendetta against his political opposition and intimidate others into silence. I don't want to hear talk about how you don't like that he then lied about it.
I want to hear how you're going to go burn Bush in effigy in your local public park. I want to see photographs.
Bush has placed his personal fortune--not even the good of the Republican Party--above the good of America, above the good of American citizens. He has harmed us to benefit himself. His priorities are wrong for America and if we tolerate it we're not better off than the peasants under tyrant-kings.
