Announcing the Formation of a New 21st Century Veterans and Military Family Organization that Intends to Get Political!
Washington, DC:
Veterans and Military Families for Progress (VMFP) claims there will be "no mas" for lawmakers that offer only lip service to the military and veterans of America, and fail to back up their words with legislative action.
Unlike other veterans service organizations, VMFP
advocates on issues of policy affecting veterans, military personnel and their families;
endorses and works on behalf of candidates for public office who support our issues; and
welcomes family members who participate fully in the organization.

"We will be rating every lawmaker, based on their votes, actions, and responses to an in-depth, questionnaire we send them to determine which Senators and Congressmen are worthy of our support. This questionnaire will also be sent to Veteran candidates and military family members who win theirPrimary races. It will be used as a means for
VMFP membership to endorse and support veteran and military family candidates for office," Matt Cary, President of the newly formed national organization said recently.
Veterans and Military Families for Progress is a 501(c)4 organization headquartered in Washington, D.C. Within the national framework, local VMFP chapters work on issues that benefit veteran and military families in their local communities. VMFP is made up of individuals from across the country, and from the breadth of rank and military services, who either served, are serving or are families of thosewho have heeded the call to serve their country.
VMFP was founded with a mandate to ensure non-partisan support for the rights and needs of veterans, active duty service members and their families. As such, VMFP supports any legislation, regulation and policy that ensures those rights are clearly defined, understood by the American people and protected by their elected officials and leaders.
There's a press conference being held at the Nat'l Press Club today to announce the Organization's "coming out" and a website up at www.vmfp.org which will undergo some tweaking in the days to come.
Those who have served, or are serving and their families are welcomed and encouraged to join! It's time that the nation's veterans get political at both the national and state level!
