This honest-to-god democrat is confused. There's a daily "outrage"-chorus protesting the war and Democrats s-e-e-m (?)genuinely upset about the debacle in Iraq . So how to reconcile that Hill & Bill --our own hardline conservatives promote stepping up! the aggression and substantial increases beyond "Bush the Terrible's" troop deployment. So why all the fuss? Too bad the people don't have benefit of
ANY!! similar candor about our leadership's *far-out! *fiscal conservatism that degraded the quality of life for at least 90% of Americans in the 90's.
Hill & Bill have been doing "regime" change right here in America. They've turned our healthy two (2) party system, republican *AND Democrat into a single, no alternative dual-republican *unit. It gets harder and harder to
distinguish between the dictatorial transformation they initiated and garden variety totalitarianism . As the shrewd Father of fake news he wrote the use of perception management on *Americans into law (IPI "International Public Information System" April 1999) and *merged the 2 main parties with deceptive "feel-good" terms like "I'm a uniter not a divider", now the Corporado's mantra. Folks, there's a reason monopolies are unhealthy for democracy; we need those who govern us to compete for our "business" not conspire to dictate it.
FDR, JFK-- we know!! they weren't all we would've liked but if our current leaders think trashing former presidents will excuse the *radical, privatization-morality that originated in the 90's, they've got another thing coming. What counts is that *democracy remained intact under all those "bad" men --until the 90's; it remains embedded in the history books and in the memories of Americans. Bill's *ultra-conservative coup was qualitatively different than any breach of trust that preceeded it. While in office he consolidated the media (ending the free press), merged two party-representation into one, and gutted the whole regulatory system that protected Americans from corporate predation. He sent NAFTA's shadow across the globe, with no standard of decency at all; with no restrictions, rules or regulations the global work force were at the mercy of trans-national abuse and outrage that would galvanize a loosely organized insurgency. His radical right inititatives were *rejected by generations of (not only democrats, but) all the *Republicans before him who hesitated to radically undermine democracy. Or, it may have been they simply feared the democratic outcry.
Want pornography?, then don't look to the innocent indiscretion ala Monica and the straw group of a few not too bright religious fanatics. They got our attention and unwittingly did Clinton a service while he wrecked the democratic party and disenfranchised middle/working-class Americans. He turned over many of the civil/human rights we fought for more than a century, to men above the law with no respect for truth -- like himself. I mean how would a person know the meaning of civil rights when they don't even know what the meaning of "is" is? By the time Bush took office the damage was done; Bush *VERY MUCH to his chagrin, remains a pale right-wing shadow of the fake democratic president no matter *what he does and its not like he HASN'T been trying.
Real dictators if they're worth they're salt are better identified by how little an unsuspecting public knows. Dictators need! secrecy, and censorship --helped along, of course, by much intimidation and an elite media that keep their secrets from the public. Check out your t.v. news, radio, web forums, any of the media-- what kind of "dictator" has his dirty laundry hanging everywhere and gets beat up every day by the media? And by the way, what have *YOU learned about Clinton--and the dramatic right-wing transformation he initiated in the 90s. Though he's widely called the most *Effective President *THEY ever had by the majority of Republicans-- I mean, what have they shared with us other than all we didn't need to know about poor Monica's "tribute"........
Hill & Bill got tons & tons of corporate thank-you-bucks for the massive sellout of America and won't/don't/didn't/never did a thing for us! Either we quit wringing our hands and resign ourselves to life in a corporate dictatorship, *or get his DLC out of our party--and the sooner the better.
