I thought it sadly appropriate that I came across a post that shows how bad GOP lawmakers are to veterans on Memorial Day. From
The Fighting Dems Newservice:
Based on votes cast in 2005 on issues of concern to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), that organization rates Republican members of the House and Senate very poorly in relation to their Democratic colleagues.
House and Senate Republicans, combined, have an average rating of 10 percent with many scoring zero while Democratic senators and representatives score an average of 92 percent.
While I am in no way surprised at the reality of this, I am surprised at the perceptions of the American people. Why don't more people know about these numbers? Why do GOP lawmakers still get the lionshare of veteran votes? What can we do to tell more people? BTW, I have recently been criticized as being a someone who tries to "scare" people into voting Democratic. My response was, I am not trying to be scary; the facts simply are scary. However, so as to be clear, I'm not asking how do we scare people with these numbers. The numbers simply need to be shared, no?
