This was diaried yesterday but as I read more of the comments in the thread today my disgust with those little assholes reached a boiling point.
This is what comedy is for them.
Time to pull out of Wisconsin
By: crosspatch · Section: Diaries
From the diaries...
There were 28 shootings this past weekend in Milwaukee. After 175 years of occupation, we are seemingly unable to extract ourselves from the quagmire that apparently is Wisconsin. I say it is time America cut its losses and pulled out of Wisconsin NOW. We currently have over 7000 Army National Guard troops based there yet there seems to be no end to the carnage.
Please join me in writing to Rep. Jack Murtha to get this terrible situation the attention it deserves. 15 in Haditha is nothing compared to the horrors perpetrated month after month after month after month in Wisconsin. It's time we brought our people home.
haha, get it? Read a few of their back slapping comments on the flip.
Let's leave aside the stupidity of the comparrison for a moment. We'll even forget that the stupid assholes who run the site thought it was worthy of promoting to the front page. Instead let's look at the comments from a group fucking children happy to support the war but without the slightest chance of signing their pimply asses up to fight in it.
First we get the high-5's.
well done! <n/t> By: haystack

"Well done?" "Gold?" Sorry young chickenhawks, it is nothing but sheer stupidity. The fact that someone can joke about the murder of innocent men, women and children shows such a lack of basic humanity that I am embarrassed to know that these people are citizens of the same country as me.
Now let's move on to some more comments.
NO BLOOD FOR CHEESE! By: furious
Bush is only in WI for the CHEEEEEEESE!

Talking Point-o-matic! By: Socrates
Our presence in Wisconsin has never been about cheese. Or at least, the flow of cheese has never been our sole objective there.
No, Operation Wisconsin Freedom is about creating a democracy where there has been none. It is about the human rights of Wisconsinners, such as getting lathered up and driving around on a snowmobile. Year round.
Despite what you might hear in the MSM, our presence has been largely welcomed by the majority of people in Wisconsin. Only a few in the larger population centers of Madison and Milwaukee have complained, and that chiefly because the local government wasn't receiving enough foreign aid from Washington.
I believe we should stay in Wisconsin. There is enough cheese money to rebuild their devastated infrastructure, now that it's not being used in the "Food for Oil" program.
And in other good news, Brett Favre is going to play another year. Can we do less?
That is just so funny. These kids must keep their college Republican groups in stitches.
Finally, someone comes in with a rational comment. The fact that it is half way down the page is sad enough but the responses to it are just pathetic.
Humor deficient me? By: wealthofnations
Although I understand the basis for this diary, I don't find it amusing. Yes, I know this won't make me popular here, but I call 'em like I see 'em. Let me explain my reaction...
This Memorial Day gave me opportunity to think about the bravery and patriotic values of our men and women in uniform. Their service is made more poignant by the 3,000 or so deaths and upwards of 15,000 severe injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan. Don't get me wrong -- these numbers do not signify anything about the value of our cause, good or bad -- death and injury is what our fighting men and women have always faced.
I just have a hard time comparing the hardships of combat in Iraq with life in Milwaukee. Maybe it makes me humorless, but I feel any such comparison, no matter how well-intentioned, demeans the sacrifice of our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Humor deficient? yes! By: DAHmich
Irony, sarcasm, satire and lampoon! All tools to ridicule the obvious hypocrisy of the left. Sorry if this offends your sensibilities, but if you cannot see the hypocrisy of the Jack Murthas, Howard "the duck" Deans and the John "I have the hat" Kerrys of this world...well, can't help ya!
"Irony, sarcasm, satire and lampoon!" What a fucking idiot. I don't think that even Dennis Miller would agree with this description of the diary. Maybe Big Pharma would and I'm sure Ann Coulter would, but real human beings would see it for the sick childishness that it is.
There was a time that I had respect for a few of the people over there. Adam C/Dovespra was someone that I thought had a little integrity. But the fact that this was promoted to the front page without a single "Director" chiming in with even a slight disagreement tells me that that respect was grossly misplaced.
