Just when you think you've seen everything, see this:
Gubernatorial candidate for Governor in Alabama does virtual strip tease for campaign dollars.
There is a serious side to this silliness, however. More below the fold...
There is so much wrong with Alabama politics it is really hard to know where to begin. But third party ballot access is a big one, and one that should worry progressives nationwide. Loretta Nall, granted, is a pro-gun, anti-government Libertarian. Not necessarily the average Kos-ters cuppa. But the fact that after she has received the official nomination of the state Libertarian Party she STILL has to fight to get on the ballot is ridiculous.
The fact that she is engaging in this sexy political stunt sure to shut the mouths of the religious right stranglehold in this state is fabulous. Shake it, Loretta.
I'm not off my soapbox yet, a story on our local NPR station pointed out yesterday that lobbyists in Alabama can spend up to $250.00 PER DAY on each individual legislator without reporting a DIME of it to anyone. So of course US Steel and Alabama Power and all the other people-who-really-run-this-state just keep it to $249.99. Per DAY. Per LEGISLATOR.
Don't get me started on Alabama's racist constitution.
