I'm not going to eat between meals and I'm not going to take seconds. Just today. And I'm going to try this for a year to see what happens.
I think The Hacker's Diet came along just in time for me. I've been doing my regular routine and lost all the easy weight. And now I'm at the point where (just like Overweight Oscillating Oscar or even Bulky Blown-up Buster) if I don't walk for a day or two and/or if my portions get a little too big I gain a couple of pounds. The thing is I just haven't had to keep that close an eye on things -- for so many months the weight just fell off, I didn't have to worry.
I knew I'd reach this point eventually. I've lost enough weight that walking burns about half the calories it did when I started. And I'm still doing the same 3 miles a day. And I'm guessing that I'm burning fewer calories when I'm just sitting around too. But it's all guess work, because I haven't done anything in a long time to measure my metabolism more exactly.
Now, because of The Hacker's Diet, I'm starting to think about my weight as part of a system. And I'm hoping that as I understand my personal system better, keeping control of my weight won't seem so much like magic or luck.
