This was inspired by a question from
NHabroad in Beneawu's latest
diary about the
50 State Strategy.
Would it be possible to get a count of the number of districts the republicans have covered? I'd love to see how many Dems they're leaving unopposed...
Using the the lists from the 50 State Strategy, and Politics 1 I've put together maps (where red there's no Dem running, where blue Republicans have no candidate) showing the districts where Republicans haven't fielded the candidate. We're fielding candididates in all but 10 Congressional districts. The Republicans lack the courage to run a candidate in 57 districts, in 1/8 the districts in this country there will be no Republican candidate for Congress.
Republicans lack the courage to run in Alabama.
Republicans lack the courage to run in AL-5, and Al-7.
And unfortunately, Spencer Bachus gets a pass, because the filing deadline has passed. In 2008, we better lets make Rep. Bachus run for a change.
Hell, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.
