I confess - I'm a huge Olbermann fan. In the first quarter of 2006, his market share increased at the expense of Ted Baxter and Paula Zahn. But, would the trend continue?
from mediabistro.com
The trend is continuing. MSNBC beat CNN at 8pm in the second quarter of 2006, as well, according to numbers out today. Olbermann averaged 156,000 demo viewers, narrowly beating Zahn's 153,000. MSNBC was up 32 percent from the same quarter last year, while CNN was down 20 percent. Bill O'Reilly averaged 401,000 demo viewers in the quarter, down from 450,000 last quarter and down 14 percent from the same quarter last year.
Anyway, we should all continue to support Kieth and spread the word. Pretty much the only shred of truth anywhere on TV.
Anyway, with Dan Abrams taking over as general manager at MSNBC, what advice would you give him? To "build on the success" of Olbermann (and Tweety), what other potential hosts are out there?
I thought Brian Unger was good filling in for Kieth. Greg Palast would be great as a host or a commentator.
If you had your own network, who would you put on?
