Pen, a Big Daddy Con revealed a psychological tick in a reply to Pen's discussion of a "Free Market Solution" to Latino immigration. Pen's respondent posited the curious notion that it is a duty of Government to "protect the culture". Oh?
more after the fold
This Cheap-Labor Con's disagreement was reminiscent of National Socialist efforts at "protecting" the "Kultur" from "degenerate humanist art".
These people, these "conservatives" are of a same, no matter what movement in what guise attracts them, it's always about assuaging their insecurities via a "big daddy" government that enforces cultural "norms" these folks identify as safe and non-threatening. Thus, safely re-assured that indeed everything about them is "normal", they are ready for economic slaughter because part of that big daddy culture instills a servile attitude freely dolloped out to one's "betters".
Big Daddy government that spies on us, won't tell us what it's up to and worse, lies with impunity- this is all acceptable to guys like this because Big Daddy will also protect us from those scary Mexicans and everyone else not like us. Big Daddy beats our butts but he also tucks us in and tells us he'll keep the boogeyman away.
Big Daddy attracts one kind of "conservative", Cheap Labor another. The two types, though fundamentally psychologically unwell, are not the same but they are a dynamic that is symbiotic and not at all parasitic except upon the rest of us. On the rest of us, they are a pox.
