I'm sure this isn't news for most who visit DKos regularly. For those who didn't know, it's an election year and the Republicans are scared. Next week, they will attempt to rally their extemist base by introducing new legislation to ban Same-Sex Marriage. It's obviously not going to pass, so we can all take comfort in only being discriminated by the respective states in which we reside (except you lucky, open-minded bastards in Massachussetts.) But does that mean we should allow the Do-Nothing Republican Congress to get away with ignoring real issues in favor of spreading hate? HARDLY. More below the fold
I think we're at a point where Americans are fed up with this circus act on Capitol Hill, orchestrated by the likes of Bill Frist and Dennis Hastert (WHY MUST I LIVE IN IL-14?!?!?!?!?!). Most clear-thinking Independents and Liberals will probably be turned off by the fact that this is what the Republicans give priority over... say... IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN, TERRORISM, LEVEES, GLOBAL WARMING, CRUMBLING SCHOOLS, $8 TRILLION DEFICIT, SKYROCKETING GAS PRICES, CONGRESSIONAL CORRUPTION... the list goes on. What can/should we do to make this shit blow up in their faces?! Spill your brains! Oh, and take the poll.
