In my view, war is always wrong, but once in awhile inevitable.
The American Revolution: Was this a "just" war, so to speak? Was this war wrong? Or was it just a form a represssion that made inevitable that war would come?
The Civil War: Was this a "just" war? Was keeping the union together worth the million lives that were lost?
WWII: What about this thing? What would have happened if we totally ignored what was going on? Was it worth it? And what would have happened if we hadn't had an impact on this conflict?

What about the Iraq War? Is this a "just" war? Does this fit into the same category as the other 3? Or even one of them in some odd way?
Since the premise of this war has been disproven (i.e. WMD's) to not only the people of this nation, but the entire globe, what now is our purpose over there? As far as I can determine from the Bush administration, it is that they continuously say "Better over there than over here". So, the whole premise now is that we started a war in a foreign nation so that we could utlize thier land as a front against an enemy that can't be determined can't be found and can't be identified except by affiliation and action. All the while we are steadily feed the excuse that we need for the people of Iraq and our soldiers to suffer on a daily basis because we don't want it over here? Wow.
Radical militant Islamic factions are a constant threat all over the world, this is known. They have become very dangerous, this is also known. But operating without any support from any people, from any nation will not be the way this threat is taken care of. This will take global support, and unfortunately, military action at times, but it will go no where as long as the world hates Bush, us and what he has done.
The world doesn't truly hate American's or America, they hate the fact the people of this nation have allowed this maniac and his people to take over our government and bully the world. They have turned a shameful eye to us and in the end will hold the people of this country responsible for this idiot. Until the day comes where the people of this country take back control of thier country, that respect will not return. They don't see us as strong, they see this nation going the way of the dinosaur and falling victim to corruption at a rate even historical Rome couldn't match. Bush has become this nation's Ceasar, hell bent on transforming the Executive branch to more of a Emporer's position, than that of an American President, (Something I believe Channey would love to see), and intimidating the Congress, Senate and the bSupreme Court into fearful, cowarding "do as they are told" public menaces.
To truly become a nation of the people again, to truly become a party that can lead again, (The Democratic Party) people will have to squash this form of corruption as a primary goal and be ruthless in it's pursuit in our party as well as the others. This is the only "war" that could truly define itself as "just" right now in our time in this nation.
The people of the world wait to see if the people of this country remember who they are and where they came from.
They wait to be proud of us all, once again.
