Over the last few hours there has been some grousing around these parts that a few Marcy Winograd supporters have resorted to trying to turn Jane Harman into the Devil incarnate in order to justify replacing her.
I'd like to honor those critisims by offering a simple, honest, polite 4 step argument for going out... right now... and inking up... or punching up... or computering up... one last vote for Winograd.
1) Harman originally supported the war. So whatever justifications one might make for that support, one cannot deny that those who once supported the war have a harder time now making a case against it. Winograd will go to D.C. with a clear, simple, unfettered position on Iraq.
2) Jane Harman is also well funded by the defense contracting industry, which further colors (or at least gives the APPEARANCE of clouding) her judgements on the war.
3) Harman has not been definitive in critisizing George Bush's secret NSA spying program. Marcy Winograd has pledged to be steadfast in investigating and uncovering and stopping said program.
4) Jane Harman's seat on the Intelligence committee appears to be in jeapordy, so therefore the argument that her seinority is a boon to the district is somewhat suspect.
There's lots more, IMHO, but there are four points... seemingly without argument... and without calling Harman a single name... toget your butts to a poll in the next 2 hours and 10 minutes and giving Marcy the final push.
