I was reading an article via Ned Lamont's campaign
site today and found
this article about the Senate race, including the Republican candidate, Alan Schlesinger. In the article Lieberman's campaign manager, Sean Smith, is quoted thus:
"The fact that Ned has generated so much support from the national netroots
says a lot," Smith said, pointing to endorsements such as the one Lamont just
secured from MoveOn.org. "We have a lot of support in Connecticut. ... And Ned
is supported mostly by out-of-state political activists."
[snip]
"The people who are going to decide this election reside in Connecticut,"
Smith said. "And that is who we are focused on communicating to and whom we're
asking for their support."
Follow me carefully over the slippery slope to the right to see what happened when I ventured into what has become Joe's world.
So I wandered over to Joe's official campaign site to find an email address for Mr. Smith so that I could enlighten him on this matter. I wanted to tell him that A) I am a registerd Democrat in Connecticut and will be at the front of the line when the polling place opens on August 8, so that I may cast an enthusiastic vote for Ned Lamont. And B) that while Ned's support extends coast to coast, while he has received small donations from all across the country, Ned Lamont has spent his time here, in the state, talking to us, the people, while Lieberman has been collecting donations from out-of-staters.
But I got to Joe's website and was a bit shocked by what I found.
There are no news articles cited since one dated May 19, "LIEBERMAN WINS PARTY NOMINATION: Delegates Vote Overwhelmingly: Joe Lieberman is THE choice to Keep Fighting for Connecticut's Families ." The article, while it has this nice title and subtitle and dateline Hartford, CT, fails to even mention Lamont by name. It is comprised of quotes from CT Dems that have to play by the rules and support Joe. For now.
Anyway, May 19 was almost three weeks ago and there's a primary in 60 days and there are no more recent articles available on Joe's site. Let's see if we can suggest a few:
