As a follow-on to the recent libertarian Democrats conversations, some news from Utah, the reddest of the red!
The chair of the Utah Libertarian Party seems to have come 'round to Kos' (and mine, which is why I became a Democrat) vision of the integration points (sorry, I'm a software developer) between the Libertarian and Democratic parties.
He's asking Utah Libertarians in swing areas to vote for Democrats, with the express reasons that the party of "small government" isn't, the party of "individualism" isn't, the party of "personal responsibility" isn't. He said on the local NPR station this morning that there is much more difference between the Republican and Libertarian parties today than between the Democratic and Libertarian parties. He's recognized that unless we want to go down the tubes with respect to economics, social policy, and civil liberties, the Republicans must be stopped.
