I posted a diary last night about PsiFighter's and my work on OurRevolution. Don't worry, I won't diary whore it tonight. It wasn't even that well written a diary. However, the information in the diary
was important, so I'm going to post the gist of it again, so that it gets the eyeballs it deserves.
Basically, the project is looking more and more realistic, and will ideally unveil sometime before the general election this November. Here's the catch: as the feasibility of the project increases, the amount of time and energy involved in making OurRevolution a reality will soon surpass the amount of time and energy he and I can devote to the project. We need your help. We need your help if you're an "old-timer" but believe in the potential of OR (OurRevolution). We need your help if you're a young progressive interested in seeing this get off the ground. We need your help, or this will be years in the making. But what can you do to help, you ask? Plenty.
We've already been contacted by a programmer who has worked with CivicSpace before, and is willing to work cheaply. However, creating this site will be a gigantic burden, and I'd hate to shoulder him with that responsibility alone. If you are technically capable, and willing to help out, that'd be fantastic. So you don't know a thing about web design? That's fine, too. We need people to help out with the design, layouts, logos, etc. Not your cup of tea? We need help identifying potential advertisers. We need help locating and maintaining contacts at every state party, the DNC, and pertinent PACs. We need help with organization. We need help with everything.
This project is going to be expensive. I'm a poor college student. So is PsiFighter. If you don't feel you could help any other way, perhaps you'd consider helping to offset some of the start-up costs as they develop?
Most importantly, we need to know you're interested, particularly if you're 18-30ish (though if you're over that age, and wish that OR had been around when you "fit" the demographic, let us know that too.)
If you can help us out in any way, please email me: jzavadil (at) cableone (dot) net. It will be much easier to keep track of your information if I have it in an email, and I can be sure to get back to you. If you'd rather not email me, my AIM screenname is jeysiin. Feel free to shoot me an IM.
