..rants and raves, that is. Spokane.craigslist.org might not SEEM to be a seething hotbed of political intrigue and turmoil, and that's because it ain't. It's called Spokapathy for a reason, kids.
But I have to take what I can get and settle for it, and tonight, I settled for
this guy, who took a break from slinging slimy slurs at Democrats to respond to a lefty; said lefty had made a
genuine effort to transcend pie-fighting and stooge-slapping and the entire city was graced with an actual sorta-civil discussion.
That's where
*I step in*.
One of the things I like best about discussing things over the, uh, internets, is that most people tend to enjoy a larger vocabulary when writing than when talking. I'm no exception, and I also like having the extra time to quickly Google a fact or source ("nanogoogling," if you will) and to take an extra bit to compose a sentence without feeling pressured to fill it with "umm"s and "uhh"s to avoid breaking conversational pace.
So after reading righty's response post, I was compelled to contribute to the discussion. My expertise at dailykos lurking, combined with my ninjalike furtive websurfing on company time, uniquely endowed me to ferret out the weak points in righty's post, ignore the least of them, and hit back hard on the points that really mattered. In the process, I leaned much, such as:
*Nancy Pelosi deserves execution
*Ronald Reagan was right after all (though I never learned about what in particular)
*Conviction in one's beliefs is more important than accuracy
*Some people just need to FEEL like they're right and don't care what the facts are
*I have too much spare time on my hands, an unfortunate byproduct of bachelorhood.
Enjoy, if you have the courage, and the late-night boredom.
