Today (July 13, 2006, 10:50 AM)in the U.S. Senate, a vote was taken on an amendment to the Department of Homeland Security Appropriations Act, 2007 (H.R. 5441).
According to S.Amdt. 4641, the funding was for:
To fund urgent priorities for our Nation's firefighters, law enforcement personnel, emergency medical personnel, and all Americans by reducing the tax breaks for individuals with annual incomes in excess of $1,000,000.
Needless to say, since we currently have a Republican majority, the motion was rejected with the help of 7 democrats.
