The AP-Ipsos survey asked 789 registered voters if the election for the House were held today, would they vote for the Democratic or Republican candidate in their district. Democrats were favored 51 percent to 40 percent.
Not surprisingly, 81 percent of self-described liberals said they would vote for the Democrat. Among moderates, though, 56 percent backed a Democrat in their district and almost a quarter of conservatives -- 24 percent -- said they will vote Democratic.
And this is where I get frustrated.
There is NOTHING liberal or moderate about George W Bush or the Republicans. If you are a liberal or moderate, at best you agree with Bush 5-10% of the time on all the major issues combined. So why would 19% of people who call themselves liberals and 44% of people who call themselves moderates NOT vote against George Bush?
The answer is simple. These people hate themselves, are incredibly stupid, or both. They hate that tens of millions of people like me have the courage to demand that Bush be held accountable for war crimes or that all votes get counted or that corporations not be allowed to commit crimes against the individual.
These are the people who complain more when Democrats demand that every vote be counted than when Republicans are denying people the right to vote.
These are the people who complain when you suggest that Bush be put on trial at the Hague more than Bush killing innocent children.
These are the people who complain when the non religious speak up for the same rights as the religious more than when the Christian Taliban uses govt to take away someone's right.
German's had a term for this called Schaudenfraud, meaning the wretchedly paradoxical joy people get from pain.
And for those jellyfish Dems (a minority of you) you enjoy pain and misery. Your personality's are such that you can never be happy. So even though you may theoretically agree with liberals and moderates on every issue, your personality requires you to vote against yourself.
