all over my head, that is.
Every time I try to follow an otherwise interesting diary and get a little more informed, some nutjob from this or the other side of the issue trolls the discussion. So here's what I propose.
We establish a debate between
two people, one on either side of the issue, and about getting some insight, reason, and detailed analysis into this issue. But here's the thing: we restrict to just two. Pick an advocate, and let see where the discussion leads us.
Also, during the duration of the debate(say, 48 hours? a week?), we agree to not post other diaries on the same topic.
For a moderator, the first person that comes to mind is Armando: but I don't really know if he's on one side or the other on this issue, so perhaps someone else might be better suited. I just don't know.
For the Israeli side, I propose
- Paul From Berkeley
- Red Sox
- Jay Ellis
For the PalestineArab side, I'd like to suggest
- Nulwee
- allmost liberal european
- Ptah the Great
The reason I've recommended these guys is because I think they're articulate, noninflammatory (in general), inclined to site their work, and able to take care of themselves in a verbal dustup, if need be.
If I didn't suggest you: please don't be offended. These have just made some arguments that I noticed. But, hey, feel free to nominate others. Heck, if this works out, maybe we'll have regular Fridays here @ Kos :-)
so...thoughts?
