It was too good to last, of course. A federal court judge ruled yesterday that the law Maryland passed to force large employers in the state either to insure their employees or to make reparations to the state Medicaid fund unfairly targeted Wal-Mart.
It boils my blood to think that this behemouth of a company can get away with depriving its workforce of adequate benefits, forcing them to rely on taxpayer dollars when they're sick.
This is an outrage. The only reason why the law unfairly targets Wal-Mart is because all other employers of that size in the state of Maryland offer insurance to their workers!
Is there one single politician who has the guts to stand up to this Ebenezer Scrooge Gone Corporate? You tell me.
